GET HELP

 If you’re in need of a safe, warm place to stay, our shelter is here for you. We welcome drop-ins at any time during regular check in hours.


Whether you’re looking for a warm bed, a hot meal, or just a supportive community, you’re welcome here.


The Sheboygan County Warming Center opens its doors to guests at 6:30 P.M., with evening admissions concluding at 7:45 P.M. After the check-in process, guests are provided a warm meal. A designated smoke break is offered at 8:30 P.M. 


Admittance beyond 7:45 P.M. is strictly allowed under police escort only. 


Guests receive light breakfast items the following morning and are expected to exit by 7:00 A.M.

Guest Guidelines

Basics Guidelines

Normal operating hours are from 6:30 P.M. to 7:00 A.M., December 2 - April 15.

Please do not show up before 6:30 P.M.


Shelter stay is for adults only (18 years of age and older) and includes a warm bed, an evening meal, breakfast items, and community information/referrals. 


The Sheboygan County Warming Center does not offer shower or laundry facilities. 

Rules

  • Once signed in for the night, if you leave the shelter, you will not be allowed back in unless it is for a staff approved emergency. 
  • No alcohol or illegal drugs onto the property. No misuse of prescription medications or abuse of inhalants. 
  • No weapons will be allowed onto the property.
  • No aggressive or threatening language or behavior.
  • Show respect and kindness to staff, volunteers, and guests, respecting privacy.
  • No talking about or participating in conversations or activities of a sexual nature.
  • No physical contact of any type with staff, volunteers, or other guests.
  • No smoking on church property after 8:30pm. Smoking will take place in designated areas during allowed times. This includes e-cigarettes and chewing tobacco.
  • Lights out/Quiet Time is at 10:00 P.M. Electronic devices may be used without sound or with headphones only.
  • Personal areas should be kept clean and tidy. Guests should clean up after eating meals and using the restroom. Personal belonging should be stored in the designated bins. 
  • Bathroom use is limited to one person at a time. Bathroom use is limited to 10 minutes.
  • Please contact a staff member if you need personal care items, clothing, etc. 
  • When leaving the Center, please make sure your cot is empty, the linens put in the marked bins and your area is clean.
  • No items may be left during non-shelter hours, there is no access during the day.

Respect and Conduct

  • Respect is a fundamental requirement at the Sheboygan County Warming Center. This includes respect for the dignity, feelings, and rights of staff, volunteers, and fellow guests.
  • Any form of disrespect, including but not limited to verbal abuse, harassment, bullying, or discrimination, is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
  • Violations of this respect policy will result in immediate action. Depending on the severity and nature of the offense, this may include being asked to leave the shelter for the night or for a longer period.
  • Repeat offenses or severe disrespect may lead to longer-term dismissal from the center.
  • We understand that everyone can have a bad day, but maintaining a respectful and safe environment is crucial for the well-being of all our guests and staff.


Basic rules are in place for the health and safety of our guests and staff. Rule violations may result in the need for a “Conditions of Stay” agreement or the dismissal from center services.  Dismissal could be for several days or the remainder of the season.
