Showers of Hope

About Showers of Hope

About

Showers of Hope provides free, private showers in a safe and welcoming environment, helping restore dignity while meeting one of life’s most basic needs. This program began in the summer of 2025 when Street Angels started bringing their original mobile shower trailer to Sheboygan to provide shower access for individuals experiencing homelessness.

Recognizing the significant need in our community, this effort grew into a larger partnership between Kohler Co., Street Angels, and the Sheboygan County Warming Center. Kohler Company sponsored the new shower trailer, and Street Angels has generously leased the trailer to the Sheboygan County Warming Center for a one-year pilot program.

Since arriving in Sheboygan on June 3rd, 2026, Showers of Hope has served more than 220 individuals, expanding access to essential hygiene services while creating opportunities for connection, support, and resource navigation. Before this program, there was only one available shower option for individuals experiencing homelessness in the community. Showers of Hope helps fill this critical gap by providing a consistent, welcoming space where people can care for themselves with dignity.

Hours

The shower trailer is open:

  • Monday: 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM
  • Thursday: 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM
  • Saturday: 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM

Guests can also receive hygiene items and clean clothing upon request.

Why Showers Matter

Access to a shower is about more than hygiene—it’s about dignity, health, and opportunity. A safe and consistent place to shower allows individuals to care for themselves, feel more confident, and take important steps toward stability.

A warm shower can help someone prepare for a job interview, attend an appointment, reconnect with services, or simply experience a sense of comfort and normalcy. Showers of Hope helps remove barriers by providing a welcoming space where everyone is treated with respect, compassion, and care.

Volunteer

At this time, we are not accepting community volunteers for the Showers of Hope program.

Since launching the program, several individuals with lived experience of homelessness have expressed interest in helping welcome guests and support daily operations. We believe these opportunities can foster connection, build confidence, and create meaningful pathways for community involvement. Because of this, we are currently focusing on coordinating volunteer opportunities internally with current and past participants in our programs.

We appreciate your interest in serving alongside us. If you would like to learn about current needs for the shower trailer, upcoming volunteer opportunities, or ways to support the Sheboygan County Warming Center and Community Cafe, please contact Lyric Glynn at lyric.glynn@scwarmingcenter.org or 920-254-4924.
