About The Landing

About

The Landing provides a safe and secure, no cost, place for individuals experiencing homelessness to store their personal belongings. Having access to reliable storage helps reduce the physical and emotional burden of carrying everything with them throughout the day and allows individuals to move through the community with greater comfort and stability.


By providing a place for important documents, personal items, and essential belongings, The Landing helps create more opportunities for individuals to attend appointments, pursue employment, connect with services, and focus on their next steps without the added stress of managing all of their possessions at once.


The program currently supports approximately 30 individuals at any given time. In addition to storage services, The Landing offers guest services during open hours, welcoming everyone who enters the space and helping connect individuals to resources, navigate available services, and access support in a way that is respectful, person-centered, and focused on individual needs.

  • Monday through Saturday: 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM 
  • During Showers of Hope service hours

Why Storage Matters

For individuals experiencing homelessness, personal belongings often represent everything they have. Without a safe place to store those belongings, people may be forced to carry them throughout the day, making it more difficult to attend appointments, pursue employment opportunities, or access services.


Having a secure place to store important documents, personal items, and essential belongings provides stability and reduces daily stress. It also helps protect individuals from additional risks—people experiencing homelessness are far more likely to be victims of crime than perpetrators. Creating safe, supportive spaces like The Landing helps promote dignity, security, and connection while removing barriers that can make an already difficult experience even harder.

Have you met Lorrie or seen her running around the building? Lorrie coordinates all Guest Services for the Sheboygan County Warming Center and helps connect individuals with the support and resources they need.


Guest Services helps people navigate resources related to housing, employment, healthcare, mental health, and other essential needs. Whether someone knows exactly what support they need or simply isn’t sure where to start, we are here to listen, provide guidance, and help connect the dots.


Every conversation is an opportunity to build trust, reduce barriers, and ensure people feel welcomed and supported.

The Landing is available to individuals' experiencing homelessness who need a safe place to store personal belongings and connect with supportive resources. 

Yes. Individuals using The Landing are required to complete a storage agreement outlining program expectations and responsibilities. 

The Landing provides storage for personal belongings, important documents, and essential items. Storage space is intended to help reduce the need to carry belongings throughout the day and support individuals as they attend appointments, interviews, and connect with services.


For the safety and security of all guests, food, illegal substances, and any items that may create a safety concern cannot be stored at The Landing. Staff are available to answer questions about what items can be safely stored.

Yes. Belongings are stored in a secure, designated storage area with access managed by staff to help ensure items are safely stored. 

No. The Landing is available to individuals' experiencing homelessness in the community, regardless of whether they have stayed in a shelter. 

Guests can access their stored belongings during scheduled program hours. Staff are available to help answer questions and provide support during this time.

Yes. The Landing also provides guest services and helps connect individuals with community resources, services, and support based on their needs. 

The Landing completes a monthly clean-out process on the first Monday of each month. Guests are encouraged to stay connected with staff and ensure their belongings remain within program guidelines.
